Interior Design and Planning

Effective interior design is based on several factors, which can broadly be categorized as follows: Pathways, Intimacy, Capsulation, Impression, Spatial Interpretation, Plan, Practicality, Balance and Harmony. The space should first be designed from the inside-out, from the perspective of those within the environment, who will use the space daily, and reflect the comfort and well-being of those involved.  Each of the factors should be examined individually, with the space evolving at each step.  They are listed in order of importance.  Once these are reconciled, the perspective of the visitor should be examined, with the same sequence of factors considered.

Thus, a space is created with multiple missions, all dedicated to the human experience, as interpreted by the values of the family or organization involved.  Latching on to current trends should be avoided and not highlighted, as they do not endure throughout the life of those involved.  Such trends can be somewhat accommodated with commonly replaceable goods, such as fabrics.
